Aspire International School celebrated its’ 1st Annual Sports Day on 23 February, 2019 in the school ground. The Guest of Honours were the Director of the School, Air Commodore Dilip Mandpe and the Principal Ms. Rashmi Shendre. The day witnessed loads of fun, excitement, participation and involvement in a disciplined manner.
The event commenced with a well-coordinated march past by the students of various houses and the honourable Director took the salute. It was followed by the oath taking where the students of the school solemnly pledged to uphold the spirit of the school and of true sportsmanship. The track and field events saw zealous participation of students from different classes that included a number of races like 100 m sprint, hurdle-obstacle race, sack race, first-aid race, sandwich race, 4*100 m relay and many more.
The school ground buzzed with fun and excitement with the students cheering when the teachers ran to add points to the score board for their respective houses. The most candid moment of the day was when the beloved Director of the school, Air Commodore Dilip Mandpe joined the male staff of the school in a 100 m race exhibiting his simplicity in true leadership and sportsman spirit.
The day was filled with exciting victories and near misses as the three houses, Fortius, Altius, and Citius fought for the Champions Trophy with all competitiveness. Citius House bagged the first position and lifted the prestigious ‘Champions Trophy’ while Altius House received the ‘Best Discipline’ Trophy. Medals were distributed to all the winners by the Director and the Principal of the school. The day ended in a cheerful note and the entire school stood together to applaud the winners.
